CLASS DESCRIPTIONS AGES 2-5

Yoga offers so many benefits to mind, body and soul that it’s amazing to offer it to kids at a young age. Classes are story based and interactive.  Kids are taken on an adventure using yoga poses and fun characters.  The kids will develop better body awareness, flexibility, concentration and self- control.  The themes tackled are issues the kids are directly faced with including; separation anxiety, dealing with frustration and feelings, sharing, building confidence, kindness and much more.  We will also explore different ways to help calm, release frustration and increase focus through breathing techniques, yoga postures and exercises to release tension and anxiety. These classes take place during the school day and can be part of the school curriculum.

KINDERGARTEN AND ELEMENTARY GRADES

In these classes kids will explore fitness and yoga in a fun and educational way.   Creative breathing and relaxation techniques will also be practiced to help with mind/body awareness, calming and anxiety.  Fun group poses and cooperative games are used to encourage teamwork and positive peer interaction.  The classes can be created along with a school curriculum or can touch on social issues that are requested. (anti-bullying, trying new things, academic stress etc). Through ongoing classes kids are given the tools to manage their behaviors to find calm, balance and less stress in their lives.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASSES

Creating healthy choices is never too late!  Pre-teens and teenagers face many new social and academic challenges.  These yoga based classes help encourage creating life long healthy habits and techniques to deal with stress, anxiety and build confidence in a safe environment.

Yoga for middle schoolers emulates more of an adult style class with traditional poses that challenge their balance, core strength and focus.  The non-competitive atmosphere will encourage the students to connect their bodies and minds to help create a positive attitude about themselves building confidence and friendships.
